What is the Schwarzmann X® Storage Fabric structure with a Flat Roof?
The Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure with a flat roof closely resembles traditional insulated prefabricated structures in its design. The roof slope is minimal (up to 2 degrees), giving the structure the appearance of having a flat roof.
Unlike other Fabric structures, it is highly suitable for storing moisture-sensitive materials, thanks to the additional insulation in the roof that prevents condensation. The structure is engineered to withstand snow and wind loads specific to your location, ensuring durability in all weather conditions.
With its modern design and aesthetic, the structure competes with traditional prefabricated structures, setting a new standard for simple storage buildings. It combines functionality with elegance, making it an exceptional choice for storage facilities.
In our 30 years of existence, Schwarzmann has developed and produced a wide range of structures. In 2020, we introduced the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure with a flat roof (slope up to 2 degrees) to the market, a result of our in-house development. The X® Fabric structure represents a groundbreaking innovation, which we have protected within the EU market.
Uses of the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure
Our partners from various sectors, including Industry, Logistics and Transport, Retail, and others, are increasingly choosing the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure with a flat roof for a variety of storage needs, such as wholesale goods warehouses, covered loading areas, dry storage, rack storage, auxiliary storage, and logistics centers.
For larger storage areas (over 500 m²) where non-moisture-sensitive materials are stored, traditional double-pitched Fabric structures without additional roof insulation are often preferred.
Why Choose the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure with a Flat Roof?
- The Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure is the only one on the market that can proudly stand alongside all types of modern industrial structures with parapet or flat roofs, as its contemporary design seamlessly integrates with existing structures.
- Snow and Wind Resistance: With the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure, there is no risk of collapse due to heavy snowfall or strong winds. The snow load is calculated according to Eurocode, based on the specific location. It is the only Fabric structure on the market that can be installed directly next to a fence, parking lot, driveway, or other buildings, while adhering to required clearances, fire safety standards, and legal regulations. The design ensures that snow remains on the roof without compromising safety.
- Moisture Control: The Schwarzmann HB-FP roofing system prevents condensation, making the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure suitable for storing moisture-sensitive materials, such as cardboard packaging.
- Solar Power Compatibility: The roof is walkable, and with the installation of a substructure, it can support a solar power plant, including photovoltaic panels.
- Simple Installation: The Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure can be installed directly on an asphalt surface, with minimal site preparation and no need for extensive construction work.
- Modular Design and Permitting: Due to its modular design, which does not require concrete foundations, the permit acquisition process is simpler than that for traditional construction. Under current building regulations, the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure can be temporarily erected as a storage facility without a building permit, in accordance with the Regulations on Temporary Structures. The structure can remain in place for up to three years. We provide full documentation for temporary installation and assist with the preparation of materials for obtaining a building permit if necessary.
Features of the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure
The Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure integrates key features of traditional Fabric structures with those of insulated prefabricated structures, resulting in a completely new type of structure.
Steel Structure
The structure is made exclusively of steel profiles, providing the necessary strength and stability. For each project, an individual static load-bearing calculation of the steel construction is performed by a certified engineer. This calculation accounts for the prescribed snow and wind loads at the installation site, following Eurocodes, similar to traditional concrete structures.
Foundation of the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure
The standard metal foundations, an integral part of the steel structure, allow for simple and effective anchoring of the building to the ground without the need for concrete foundations.
The size of the metal foundations and the number of anchor rods are determined based on tensile and transverse forces calculated through static analysis. The fastening system complies with the SIST EN 13782:2015 standard.
The effectiveness of the fastening system has been repeatedly validated by tests conducted by the Institute for Building Materials, Igmat, d.d. Additionally, installation without concrete foundations is one of the prerequisites for obtaining a building permit for a simple structure.
Roofing of the Schwarzmann X® Fabric structure
The multilayer roofing system is designed to prevent condensation inside the structure, incorporating an insulating layer. The top layer consists of a PVC membrane that provides excellent protection against weather conditions and has a long lifespan of over 20 years.
