The Hafen Wien port in the heart of Vienna, as a professional provider of logistics services, boasts an excellent location on the route from the North Sea to the Black Sea, serving as a direct link between three modes of transport: road, ship, and rail. Additionally, it is close to Vienna International Airport, providing a high-capacity hub for international trade and transport. For their activities, they needed increased storage capacity at a location right next to the Danube.
Storage tent halls in Vienna
For short-term storage and transshipment of goods, Schwarzmann’s larger storage tent halls were suitable. The advantage of these halls is that they can be anchored directly to the asphalt surface, eliminating the need for additional construction work. Due to fire safety, storage organization, and the required common areas, we offered 4 identical halls with dimensions of 26 × 60 m and a usable height of 6 m. Together, they cover 6240 m² and provide greater flexibility for the port as a provider of logistics and storage services.
Successful project execution relied heavily on good organization and communication with the on-site project manager. Materials for the tent halls were delivered to the location according to the schedule, coordinated with the assembly team and the client. The assembly team did an excellent job and completed all tasks within the agreed deadlines despite unfavorable weather conditions. It was very important for the investor to be able to start using the facilities by the end of May 2024. With the new spaces, the port will be able to ensure the storage of a large volume of products, facilitating the organization of transport to final destinations.
