The Covered Parking Project for Neubauer
This project resulted from precise coordination between the client’s requirements, Audi’s technical specifications, and practical implementation solutions, culminating in a unique and tailored outcome. The 35m x 21m structure maximizes the available space on-site, offering optimal coverage.
Design Challenges and Solutions
A key challenge in designing the structure was the required interior layout, which did not permit the placement of support columns in the center, as the area serves as a passageway. The solution was to strategically position the columns on either side of the passage, ensuring a symmetrical arrangement along the width and length of the structure. This maintained an unobstructed passageway, a crucial aspect in preserving the spatial flow, one of the design’s core functional elements.
Architectural and Aesthetic Requirements
The client opted for a flat-roof design that balanced their preferences with Audi’s strict architectural guidelines. A key requirement was aligning the structure’s lines with those of the Audi showroom across the street. Additionally, the canopy’s higher clearance compared to standard vehicle shelters was essential, enhancing functionality while also creating a spacious, open feel that improves both user experience and the visual appeal of the site.
Technical Excellence and Functionality
Throughout the planning process, various options for lighting, aesthetics, and costs were thoroughly assessed. In the end, the client selected the Schwarzmann X® structure, which emerged as the optimal solution across all key considerations. The design includes an internal canvas that subtly conceals the structural elements, resulting in a sleek, clean, and modern appearance that complements the overall facility’s aesthetics.
