At the Dob Waste Management Center in Slovenia, there was a need for a functional and reliable shelter to protect the collection sites. This shelter had to meet several specific requirements to effectively serve its purpose and comply with local regulations and restrictions.

The shelter’s requirements, besides the dimensions of 20 m x 40 m, included:
- A maximum height of 11 m with an internal usable height of over 8.5 m, allowing for unobstructed loading and unloading of waste from the collection sites. This height was also dictated by limitations set in the municipal spatial plan.
- Foundation without concrete bases, as the shelter is located in an area where the subsoil consists of a gravel base 0.8 to 1.6 m thick, with previously deposited municipal waste underneath. This required a tailored solution for structural stability, with potential settlement/sinking of the structure monitored annually.
- Adjustment of individual column heights due to the terrain slope and the presence of a concrete wall at the back of the collection sites, necessitating precise planning and flexibility during installation. The front entrance requires wider spacing between columns at 8m, while 4 m is sufficient at the back.

Based on these requirements, Schwarzmann proposed a custom fabric structure with a flat roof, type Schwarzmann X®, which offers exceptional flexibility in use and assembly. Our solution allowed us to meet all the specific needs of this project. The shelter is designed with metal anchor foundations, ensuring its stability while enabling easy installation without extensive construction work.
By adjusting column heights according to the terrain, we achieved optimal stability and functionality while maintaining aesthetic harmony with the existing infrastructure on-site. Our shelter not only provides protection from weather conditions but also visually complements the high standards of the waste management center, contributing to a positive impression of orderliness and environmental care.
