TRICOR company focuses on developing and manufacturing standardized and customized solutions for industrial and heavy packaging made of corrugated cardboard. In 2021, they started the development of a new distribution location in the Trata Industrial Zone, Škofja Loka, Slovenia. They needed additional storage space for cardboard packaging, optimally fitted to the irregularly shaped plot.
Two fabric structure warehouses were designed according to the layout options and customer requirements. One of the fabric structures was upgraded with built-in storage racks in the structure itself and a separate internal PVC membrane chamber designed for maintaining higher temperatures. Schwarzmann provided the customer with 2500 m2 of storage space. Tricor themselves also assembled a sales-office section at the end of the longer warehouse, using shipping containers to manage the entire facility. Both fabric structures are directly anchored to the asphalt surface. Wall-mounted fans ensure ventilation and prevent condensation. Canopies were added above the entrances where automatic sectional doors are installed, to enable access protected from rain and snow.
The white PVC membrane on the roof allows sufficient daylight to enter the interior during daytime, reducing additional artificial lighting costs. On both ends facing the road, a section of the PVC membrane is printed with the company’s logo and advertising message.
